Modern WHSE initiatives
Manpower realises that traditional and mainstream approaches to safety assurance were once innovative ideas that gained momentum due to their effectiveness and ease of use. With this in mind, Manpower seeks to develop and promote modern WHSE initiatives that further the prospects of safety assurance. To date, we have developed two WHSE programs that lead the recruitment and labour hire industry internationally. These two programs commenced trial in 2011 and will become mainstream programs within Manpower in 2012.
BETA Program - Behavioural Examination and Trends Analysis.
This program seeks to identify the level of safety provisions provided by a client, the level of the candidates knowledge and compliance to the provisions, and what classical or conditional learning's they apply in the absence of these. The application of this program is flexible in that it can be applied to an individual; a work cell, a site or an entire organisation. The end result is an analytical report to the client on the trends of the programs attributes so as identify what is working well, and what is not. We also provide a set of operational and or systemic recommendations when indicated as such by the client.
Functional Capabilities Analysis Program
This program ensures candidates are fit for the work they may be assigned to. We can employ a one or two pronged approach to assessing a person's physical suitability to an appointment depending on the physical demands of the job, and their physical limitations. The results of the examinations focus upon the prevention of aggravating pre-existing conditions, reducing strains and sprains, and placing people in situations that have the potential to compromise their state of health. This is another assurance control that Manpower utilises to ensure the health and safety of their candidates.
HAZOP / HAZID Facilitation
The Manpower WHSE team can facilitate HAZOP and HAZID Study Sessions for clients that exclusively use Manpower's labour hire services on their sites. This may include projects, construction work, shutdowns, refurbishments.
The Manpower WHSE Unit continues to research and develop more innovative ways to provide proven operational functions that support WHSE assurances.
